Mr. Liu Guojun was born in Fu Jing Jiang county of Changzhou in 1887 Changzhou. His family was very poor from his infancy. He was depending on being the apprenticeship at the areas such as Benniu and Butou etc. of Changzhou and being the salesman to accumulate the capital, and gradually embarked on the road of Industrial plan. Experiencing 50 years of winds and rains, he had toured extensively all over the whole China, even at home and abroad, not only firstly creating machine printing technology in Changzhou but also successful trial-manufactured the Velveteen and corduroy, becoming one of the founders of modern machinery industry in Changzhou, making the great contribution for the establishment and development of knitting dye industry of China¡¯s modern nation.
After the founding of People's Republic of China, Liu Guojun actively joined the establishment of New China, and took the lead in implementing public-private partnerships, known as "red capitalists" .Due to the outstanding performance, he was elected as vice governor of Jiangsu Province in 1956. Because of yearning and loving the entrepreneurial base and the second hometown, Changzhou, Liu Guojun donated a number of cultural relics including 96 mahogany furniture to the museum in Changzhou in 1975. He died in 1978 in Nanjing, at age 92.
